Glazy Days

I'm fairly happy with how the 2 pieces I am currently painting have turned out although I think if I'd had more time they could have been better. I'm only starting to understand how glazes act when applied and have only had time to experiment briefly with this technique on these pieces.

After Christmas I am planning to start a few more paintings and I hope I can develop the technique of glazing further as it can make such a difference to a piece from what I have seen of Peter Smith's work.

It's frustrating as I want to be able to achieve these results immediately but I know from other areas of study in the past that it's only by experience and time that these things can become a true part of you.

I am learning to control the frustration and am confident that if I apply myself I can improve steadily with each piece I paint. I can see a real difference already in my paintings and I'm sure this will continue given time - I'm just very grateful to people such as Peter for enabling others to get an insight into his work.
