I started a new painting today that I sketched out a couple of weeks ago but haven't got round to starting due to the festive period. It's called "Love Song" and is based around another of Peter Smith's pieces - "You're Beautiful". When I start a new piece I always get a strange sensation which lasts for a short while until I really get going with that particular painting. It's a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I'm anxious that I won't be able to paint the picture but excited by the challenge - I wonder if this is a common phenomenon amongst artists - I suspect it might be.
Anyway, can I wish a very productive and happy New Year to everyone.
