Over the last few days I've been trying to get the blending of colour right on an Impossimals nose and stripe. Finally I managed to get it reasonably smooth after much cursing of course. One thing I've found working with oils is that you've got to be really careful where you rest your hands and arms as it's so easy to smudge something that's not quite dry. I'm learning to rely heavily on my (slightly bent) mahl stick.
The look and finish of my paintings is getting slowly better thanks a lot to changing my paints to Rembrandt oils by Talens. I'm learning more and more each time I paint but I'm still overly critical of my paintings, but I suppose that's a good thing!
The next task I have is to complete some detail work involving a silver tray and 2 cocktail glasses!
